Summer’s Cool, But Detracts From Your Ability to Call In Sick

While Midtowners practically cream themselves when the sun comes out and they’re allowed the luxury of sitting in the park, there is a certain bittersweetness to summer’s arrival. Yes, you can get dressed more rapidly in the morning and leave early from work on Fridays, but there’s one thing that’s missing.

That thing is being able to believably call in sick for your own mental health purposes. For whatever reason, sickness only seems to legitimately take hold of people in the dead of winter. Apart from the seasonal depression you get, colds, flus and fevers are far more likely to strike during these temperatures. And calling out on account of allergies will only make you look like a pussy. So yes, there is a reason for summertimes sadness.
