Waking Up Late After Binge Watching a Show All Night

When you lose most of your free time/aspirational lack in life as a result of the cube, you’re likely to fall prey to binge watching TV shows in order to numb yourself. And it’s not that the shows are bad (though sometimes they are), it’s that you’ve lost the will to create anything yourself.

Moreover, you enjoy the “relaxation” and minimal thinking it requires after a long day of drudgery and a different kind of not thinking. But you become so hooked on the anesthesia-like qualities of binge watching that you lose track of time, staying up well past the 2 a.m. mark and cursing yourself (but mainly Netflix) for surrendering control when you know you have a master to answer to in the morning.
