Explaining To Your Superior Why You’ve Shred Everything & Broken The Printer

It takes a lot to get fired these days. People not only want you to suffer for your pittance, but they also don’t want to risk having to give you unemployment. And so, when explaining to your superior why you’ve decided to shred every important document on your desk and arbitrarily fuck up the printer by detaching, among other things, its toner, it’s important to turn to the Graham Greene philosophy extrapolated by Donnie Darko (Jake Gyllenhaal) as he gives his analysis of The Destructors to Ms. Pomeroy (Drew Barrymore).

That philosophy? “Destruction is a form of creation.” Sure, HR won’t really take what you have to say as gospel, and they’ll probably even attempt invoking the threat of firing you. But, in the back of your mind, you can rest assured in knowing that what you’ve done has proven a point–not just about your mental instability, but your status as the only employee willing to dare to make any goddamn innovations in the office by constantly starting over through random obliterative maneuvers.
