Working on 9/11

There is something more than a hair sacrilegious about working in an office on 9/11–some might even say cruel and unusual punishment. What kind of honor is it to the memory of those who died in an office?

To be sure, it’s a bit flummoxing that 9/11 has not been made a national holiday wherein office workers could privately mourn the death of their compatriots to the sort of tragic circumstance that seems only to befall those willing to subject themselves to the tyranny of corporate money. They deserve better, and so do those of us still left in their fatal wake.
