“Surrender” by Ashlee Simpson: A Way to Deal With Accepting Your Fate

There are a great many people who find very little to be redeeming or comforting about Ashlee Simpson’s music career (her reality TV stint, on the other hand, offers nothing but redemption). Yet there is one song in particular off 2004’s Autobiography that can really help you with accepting your fate.

“Surrender” insists, “Baby you can’t have it all” and “All you have to do is just surrender.” Granted, this song is about getting some dude to be as into her as she is (story of every female’s life), but it works quite well with reference to one’s “career.” The more you fight it, the more upset you’re going to be when you realize you can’t.
