To laugh in the office indicates that you’ve either 1) gone mad, 2) gone stupid or 3) are trying to use this method as “the best medicine.” Usually, however, it’s one or two. And if you’re someone who uses frowning to cope/exercise, you’re going to want to stab your eardrums out after hearing the same person or cluster of people laugh like monkeys at nothing.
Sometimes, you can prevent this from happening by wearing your headphones at all times. But then there are the times you have to take them off to get to the bathroom and you’ll invariably hear “oooh ooooh ahhhhh ahhhh” piercing your auditory senses as the sound reverberates through the room. What the fuck could anyone be laughing about in the gulag? A meme? A BuzzFeed article? A piece of gossip via chat? Who knows? I’ll never understand.
