On manifold levels, there is no warmth in office buildings. Not emanating from the attitudes of the people or their cube decor (try as they might), and certainly not temperature wise.
No matter what the season, it feels like walking into an Antarctic blast. While they say that this A/C phenomenon was set according to the metabolic rates of men back in the day when women were barely permitted into the office setting, I think it’s more than that. I think it boils down to trying to make employees feel “alert”/trying to suck any remaining humanity out of them by extracting their warmth.
