The Unsavory Chain Hotels of Midtown

Some say the gritty 1970s feel of Midtown has been completely purged, what with the five-story Forever 21 and Olive Garden there to make you feel like its Anywhere, USA. But the sleazy underbelly still exists within the negligently cleaned chain hotels peppering the Herald and Times Square areas.

Take, for example, a recent instance of a dead man being found underneath a mattress in the room of a Hilton Garden Inn. What was his crime, huh? Other than being from New Jersey. And it is within this dirty atmosphere that the office workers of the area go about their fake business, all the while immune to the woes of the people being literally (rather than figuratively) asphyxiated.
