The Myth of Teamwork

Like communism, corporate culture thrives on indoctrination. One of the key tenets of “collaboration in the office” is founded on the notion that teamwork is crucial to success, whatever that means (one assumes higher sales numbers).

This myth of teamwork as a useful and essential practice in business is a complete smokescreen. The truth of the matter is, working is all about people performing separate tasks that lead to other processes you have absolutely nothing to do with. In truth, we’re all just doing our own assignments, which are eventually pieced together by management. This is more tantamount to dictatorship than democracy. So next time you’re told in an interview or meeting that the company thrives on a spirit of teamwork, don’t believe a goddamn word of it.
