Just like the mouse or moose in Laura Numeroff’s titular If You Give A… series (not to be confused with my own If You Give A Fuck… series), when you give a bitch a job to do, she’ll either 1) make further demands in order to do it or 2) take a nap or 3) not do it at all.
The crux of the theme in these illustrated tales indicates that workers, like children represented by animals, need a lot of materials and accoutrements in order to get from one task to another without pitching a fit. And even if you do manage to give the modern proletariat what he or she needs in order to “work,” he or she will always ask for more if authority wants an office worker to truly complete the “assignment” at hand.
