You know you’re probably grasping at straws when you glean wisdom from Horrible Bosses 2, however, there is a line delivered by Jason Bateman’s character noting that some people are destined to be cogs in the wheel (though he leaves out the “in the wheel” part so Jason Sudeikis’ character can say, “Cocks?”).
Sadly, there is more than a (to use a phrase from Junior Soprano–apologies for the pop culture reference overload) “cunt hair” of truth to this. Yes, it’s true, some people in this world were born to be cogs; this is simply how they were designed to function. Never questioning the absurdity of the working world lest they blow a synapse, the cogs of the earth are both troublesome and necessary. Because if they weren’t working with diligence, who would? Christ knows it ain’t me.
