Beer At Burger King, Because Midtown Lunches Need To Bring Back an Element of Grit

It’s hard to believe there was a time when Midtown could be considered a scary place in a more literal than abstract sense. And yet, with the office worker’s love for bourgeois food halls like The Pennsy, it’s been a struggle to imagine that those still seeking an element of grit during the workday would ever be able to find any place to turn to other than Rudy’s.

But thank god, one Garment District Burger King has come to the middle class of NYC’s rescue by potentially procuring a liquor license that will allow them to drink beer at a place other than Beer Authority on their lunch break. Because if there’s any place that you can have it your way in Midtown, it’s, of course, going to be BK (or, as the chain would say in the 80s, a place where they’d do it like you’d do it–which is to say, they understand you need alcohol for your sanity). Just mind the homeless person slumped over in front of his own beer who has far more time to enjoy it than you do.
